‘The X Factor’ UK: Brooks Way will not be returning this season; they deny violence allegations
There are many important events to be discussed on Sunday’s first “X Factor” results show of the season, but the biggest one for us was finding out the precise status of group Brooks Way, who was suspended from the Saturday performance show over an investigation into some allegations of violence fired against one of the group’s members.
Going into the show, the announcer proclaimed that one act would be eliminated, and once again we did not see Brooks Way mentioned during the introduction. While we waited for the show to say something on the matter, we did get the following quote from a source from the Mirror, who reportedly that the group was cut from the competition in order to prevent further controversy:
“The show was desperately trying to find a way for the brothers to stay, they are very aware of the appeal they had to the audience. The plan was to originally keep them off the show for a week, then reintroduce them, but as more details have unfolded it’s just been hard for them to do.”
There was at one point talk of the votes from this week rolling over to the next, but it does appear as though someone will be leaving tonight.
The band also put out a brief statement on Twitter prior to the start of the show tonight, saying that the “truth always wins.” We’ll see what else comes out of this, and if there is a way for the two to have some sort of future either on the competition or elsewhere after this. Had they been able to stay in the competition, even after the suspension, we feel like they would have been able to last a few weeks. There is precedent for an act missing a show and coming back later.
