‘Shameless’ season 7, episode 2 preview: The latest teases on Ian, Lip, and Fiona

There’s a new episode of “Shameless” coming up on Showtime this weekend, and we’re here to (of course) do our part to preview what looks to be more madness coming up — madness of the fun kind. Maybe not all of the Gallaghers will see it that way, but if you’ve watched the show for as long as it has been on the air to date, then you probably know a thing or two about how their misery is our entertainment by now.

1. Frank’s holed up – Frank, in the wake of the end of last season, is going to try to hide out upstairs in the house. It’s fair to assume that there is only a certain among of time this is going to work before things start to hit the skids, and that’s coming this weekend as a few of his children will do their best to bust him out of there.

2. More on Fiona’s dating life – For the past few years, Emmy Rossum’s character established a pattern of getting herself into unhealthy relationships. For at least the time being, that pattern is ending. She’s still hooking up, but as she’s going to say in this episode, it’s more of the “random fling” variety.

3. Ian looks to vent – Are we going to see him question his own sexuality? We’re not sure if we can call his sudden interest in sleeping with a woman this, or him trying to make a point about how it is still cheating as a method of revenge.

The one thing we know for sure is that “Shameless” is gonna keep being “Shameless”: It’ll be rude, crass, shocking, and probably funny along the way. All of these are a part of the fabric of why we appreciate the show so much.
