‘Pitch’ episode 4 preview: Regina King directs ‘The Break’
There are ultimately a pair of different reasons to be excited about next week’s new episode of “Pitch” on Fox. For one, this episode marks an opportunity to see Regina King of “American Crime” fame direct, which excites us mostly because we’re pretty darn confident that she has never done a thing we don’t like in terms of entertainment. Also, we’re going to be also seeing a story leading up to the MLB All-Star Game, and a surprise signing that could shake up the team significantly.
Will this episode deliver the goods? If nothing else, we know that it will continue Ginny’s relatable struggle of getting accustomed to being in this league — something that is there really regardless of gender.
Synopsis – “Mike suffers an injury that could affect his spot in the MLB All-Star Game. Meanwhile Ginny struggles to find a balance between her baseball career and her personal life and members of the Padres are blindsided when Oscar signs Livan Duarte (Christian Ochoa), a superstar catcher from Cuba.”
Promo – This is one of those cases where the preview tends to be relatively separate from what we’ve got in terms of the synopsis. The biggest takeaway that we’ve got from watching this is that Ginny is going to struggle dealing with the weight of her career. Specifically, what she interprets as being the right thing for her career may cause hurt to other people, especially when it comes to people in her family.
Of course, Ginny will also continue to get some support from her teammates — even if it’s not always all of them.
