‘The Last Ship’ season 4 spoilers: Peter Weller set to appear
Peter Weller may forever be best known for starring in “RoboCop,” but in the past several years he’s become one of the most prolific TV directors out there, doing such shows as “Sons of Anarchy,” “Longmire,” “Tyrant,” and “Hawaii Five-0.” Many of these shows he’s also appeared in physically, with the “Sons of Anarchy” gig coming after he already did some work behind the camera.
Now, he is doing roughly the same thing when it comes to TNT’s “The Last Ship.” According to a report from TVLine, Weller is going to be appearing on the drama in the role of Dr. Paul Vellek, a man who will be incredibly important to the crew of the Nathan James moving forward. While he’s no replacement for Rachel, at the same time he does have some valuable skills when it comes to genetic modification that could prove to be rather useful in the stories to come.
Weller recently directed two episodes of the show for this past season, so he’s already got a good familiarity with the cast and crew. We’re not sure this is ever his intention, but he’s got a good thing going in starting to work with people on a show behind the scenes before they opt to give him some face-time on the other side. Maybe a part of it stems from the notion of shows getting tremendously excited about the prospect of working with Peter Weller, so of course they are going to try to use him as much as humanly possible.
The fourth season of “The Last Ship” is going to be premiering on TNT next summer; unfortunately, you’ve still got some time to wait.
