‘Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X’ episode 3 preview: Lucy takes over; Jeff Probst vs. waves

Lucy -

We will not pretend that tonight’s “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” was the best or the craziest one in the franchise’s history; the Gen X tribe as a whole has a tendency to be a little bit bland. Yet, at the same time, kudos to them for pulling off their first blindside of the season. Rachel knew it was coming in the premiere, and Paul Wachter did not. We’ll be talking to him in an exit interview on Thursday to try and figure out precisely what went down.

So what is going on next week? We can sum that up, at least for now, in a couple of ways.

1. Lucy the dictator – This is hilarious. For the first three episodes of the season, the show’s edit of Lucy was fundamentally her being silent as a ghost. When one of your most-famous words so far this season is “shh,” something weird is going down. Next week, apparently she’s taking up the reigns of bossing everyone around now that Paul is out of the game.

2. Jeff Probst attacked by a wave – This is clearly going to be a gif for many episodes to come, as the sea apparently has enough of Probst during a challenge and tries to take him down a peg. Jeff takes it pretty well — honestly, we’re not sure whether or not this is a good thing that one of the most notable things we’re talking about from an episode preview is the show’s host nearly getting knocked over.

As of right now, our feeling is that Gen X probably loses again, just because they don’t have the momentum, and they don’t really have the favor of the storytelling on their side, either.
