Is ‘Bull’ episode 3 new tonight on CBS? Talking full-season possibilities
The first two weeks of the fall season were a good opportunity to get to know Michael Weatherly in a role other than Tony DiNozzo on “NCIS,” as he made his debut as the title character on another CBS show in “Bull.” He was charismatic, intelligent, and someone who utilizes everything at his disposal in order to ensure that the desired verdict is reached in a given case.
To date, we’ll say that “Bull” is an entertaining effort, but there is one unfortunate roadblock that the series is facing tonight: There’s no new episode airing on CBS. We were just starting to get to know the show, and we don’t think that having a preemption this early in the run is a good thing — even if it does make sense when you consider the context.
The reason for the delay tonight is that there is a Vice-Presidential Debate airing across all networks, and CBS, like any other primetime network out there, has a particular obligation in order to air this and bring it to viewers out there who are engaged in the political process.
One question that we wonder in the midst of this hiatus is if CBS will give this show their first full-season order of the season. The ratings to date have been good, and in recently-released live+7 data for the premiere episode last month, the show grew by more than 4 million viewers to finish with more than 20 million tuning in. Given how few shows out there reach that threshold, we have to think that this could be enough to give the series the additional episodes it probably deserves.
