‘Supergirl’ season 2 trailer hypes up Superman fun

The second season of “Supergirl” is coming to The CW on October 10, and while we were concerned about the lack of substantial promotion for the show a few weeks ago, it should be noted that we’re certainly not feeling that way anymore! The series is going into overdrive with its promotional campaign now, and you can see the latest example of that in the preview below.

In this video, you can see what we’d like to say is an extremely fun, celebratory portrayal of the characters of Kara and Clark both in and out of their famous costumes. If we look at the “Man of Steel” – “Batman v. Superman” universe over in the DC Films division, one of the things that frustrates us is that all of that is so dark and moody. When we think back to our favorite Superman work, it’s the kind that is a little more bright and optimistic. He’s an extremely tough character to perfect because he is so incredibly powerful, but making him dark does not counter-balance that in the slightest.

While there are going to be some difficult times and tough battles between these two characters coming up, rest assured that they’ll have some fun with a friendly rivalry as cousins, and some of the “Supergirl” cast has some tough questions for Superman as well — including how often he shaves. Glorious.

All in all, we do think that this preview is a lot of fun, and has us more excited for this show’s premiere than we ever were before the start of season 1.
