‘Power’ season 4: Premiere date speculation, hopes for Starz drama
Sunday night marked the season 3 finale of “Power,” and we’d certainly say that this is one of the more electric, dramatic seasons that the Starz series has put on the air. We’re sure that there are plenty of people out there who wish that the show was running for a full 13 episodes rather than 10, but we will ultimately take what we will get here. It’s like “Game of Thrones,” another show we could certainly use more of, but are happy with what they produce in a smaller season. Sometimes, less really is more.
The best news that we can offer up for the time being is that there is no plan to end “Power” anytime soon as Starz has already ordered not one, but two more seasons. That means that it will be 2018 at earliest before the show could decide to wrap up — and it could be longer than that. Given the ratings, there’s no incentive for the network to end this magicanytime soon.
So when will season 4 come on the air? Think around the summer of 2017. Given that Starz does tend to only program one night of scripted original programming a week (at least when it comes to some of its heavy hitters), it’s pretty tricky to imagine the show coming back on the air before then. Also, they gotta have time to actually make the show!
As for the sort of stories that Courtney Kemp and the writers will come up with, much of that depends on the finale! We don’t want to spoil anything here, but it should be clear that they’ve got plenty of material to run with.
