‘Ballers’ season 2 finale preview: Is Spencer out of moves?
The finale of “Ballers” season 2 is coming to HBO on Sunday night, and that marks an opportunity to learn whether or not Spencer Strasmore really has what it takes to succeed in the world of financial sports management. (Yes, we understand that those three words paired next to each other all sounds incredibly boring, but somehow the show still works!)
Over the course of the finale, the big question surround Dwayne Johnson’s character is whether or not he and Joe can actually acquire Anderson Financial, but based on the preview that we saw, it’s not looking good. As a matter of fact, the potential failure here may be enough to completely cause Spencer to spiral, creating some further problems for himself in the long run. We do know that the guy does still like to party, so to see him engage in that again should not come as a shock.
As for everything else coming in the finale, be prepared to see some sort of decision for Ricky Jerret — or at least we hope so. We do love this character, but it feels like the vast majority of season 2 was spent watching him engage in some flip-flopping over where he wanted to take the next phase of his career.
Meanwhile, Charles is going to be handed more responsibility than ever before, but of course that doesn’t necessarily mean happiness. We’ve already seen the tole that working for Seifert has on his family. The show’s been renewed already for season 3, so no matter what happens, rest assured that it’s not the end of the journey.
