‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 10 spoilers: What is going on with Raj?
The character of Raj has been a key component over the years on “The Big Bang Theory,” but there is one thing that remains rather frustrating about his arc: The show does not really make too big of an effort to push him forward. In one way or another, he’s been dating Emily for more than a season now, although circumstances are a little bit different. He is seeing Claire and her at the same time, and given how he has kept them both fairly in the dark to date, it has to be assumed that this is going to blow up in his face enormously.
Will that happen within in the first couple of episodes in season 10? It doesn’t seem like it, given that there are so many other priorities that the show has to deal with. The first episode, for example, will be themed around Leonard and Penny’s vow renewal, and from there we have other pressing matters including Howard’s new business venture and Bernadette’s pregnancy. For the time being, here is what executive producer Steve Molaro would say on Raj in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly:
“When we come back [Raj is still dating two women], but it’s all TBD there. He still has his parents pressuring him to find a nice Indian girl, which is ironic considering the horrendous divorce that they went through on the show. But I don’t think they’re going to stop.”
We do suppose it is possible that neither one of these women is the right one for Raj in the end, though we have to say that the thought of that is somewhat sad given the amount of time to date we have seen with them, and the uncertainty that surrounds the show’s future beyond this season. Ultimately, we’re just going to have to give this show some time before things start to play out.
