‘Gotham’ season 3 video: Selina Kyle takes center stage

With the third season of “Gotham” premiering on Fox in just one week’s time, we’re starting to get a sense right away as to what is going to be coming up. Good on the network for releasing a few little promos here that give you a sense as to what certain characters’ stories are going to be about.

When it comes to Selina Kyle moving into season 3, what we like about what we’re seeing is that the show seems to be giving the character full license to be more crafty and devious than ever before. This character has super-villain qualities, but she’s always been more ambiguous than others within the Batman comics. We feel like we’re starting to get the evolution from here to see where she could become Catwoman someday. She’s learned from being on the streets how the city works, and also that knowledge is in fact. She’s also developed that relationship with Bruce Wayne that will pay dividends later on in the season.

In general, though, we have a feeling that season 3 is going to be chaotic for Selina. After all, her best friend in Ivy Pepper is going to be turned into an adult basically overnight, Bruce is going to embrace more of the persona we know from the comics, and the streets of Gotham are not going to become any less deadly. The big mystery for this character, at least right now, is simply going to be finding where she fits in the puzzle.
