‘Aquarius’ season 3: Are there any renewal hopes at all?

Aquarius -

Tonight, the final episodes of “Aquarius” season 2 are going to be coming on the air on NBC, and moving forward from here, there is one question that you should be asking: Is there any hope at all that there is more of the show coming?

At the moment, it feels pretty unlikely, and we assume that even some longtime fans would be aware that the show is facing a potentially dark future, even if they enjoy the quality of it all. Ever since the show was shelved on Saturday nights, it has averaged more or less a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and barely over a million viewers. Even if this show was airing on a cable network, we’re not sure that it would be able to have a future there, either. this is a ratings-driven business, and the show is not producing the numbers. Even in comparison the season 2 numbers to season 1, the show is down more than 30% in the demo.

Ultimately, the best thing that we’re hoping for tonight is a finale that offers up some conclusion; after all, we have to think that the writers saw some of the writing on the wall given that for some, the season 2 renewal was a surprise in the first place. We’re not sure that another network will be standing back to pick this up if and when the show is canceled.

Don’t get us wrong: We’d certainly like to have it back just to see where things could go from here! We never want to root for a show to end.
