‘Supergirl’ season 2: How Winn joins the DEO
We learned a little while ago that for the upcoming second season of “Supergirl,” we were going to see something akin to turning tides when it comes to CatCo. After all, Calista Flockhart is no longer a regular as Cat Grant, and the series does need to reconfigure some elements to make that work. You’ll still see the character occasionally, but Cat has a new boss in Snapper Carr while Winn Schott is going to find himself at a new gig in the DEO.
So how is he landing there? That’s been something we’ve been a little bit curious about, and we do now have an answer. Speaking per TVLine, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg notes that Winn will actually be fired from the job, which is definitely something surprising to hear given that we always assumed that he was rather good at it.
So what’s going on here? Is CatCo doing some corporate downsizing, or did he do something to tick off Cat? Maybe it’s both, but for the sake of the story we assume what is really going on here can be explained with the following: The show needed to come up with some sort of way to separate him from what he was doing now since it would be harder to include him there. This puts him more in collaboration with Alex Danvers and Hank Henshaw, which is good since that will also give him more to do with Supergirl.
As for what is coming up with James Olsen on this coming season, that’s what we are still waiting to find out!
