Crime Dynamic Duos: ‘Chicago PD’ (Lindsay / Halstead) vs. ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ (Sam / Callen)

Duos -We’re now more than halfway into the first round of our Crime Dynamic Duos competition, and so far it has been rather interesting to see how some of the battles are shaping out. Some are reasonably close, whereas some others are complete blowouts.

Which way will it go today? That remains to be seen, but we’re very curious to find out. If this is your first time reading one of these articles, we’re going to be keeping the poll results valid until the second round begins on September 12. Vote to your heart’s content!

Chicago PD,” Lindsay and Halstead (4) – Out of all of the pairs on our list this year (see below for the full bracket), this one is one of the most intriguing showdowns. You’ve got here two people who don’t always work together, but when they do, they are effective. They are really just as much of a duo off of the force as they are on it. There are some romantic relationships on TV where you really get a sense that the two people involved mostly make life harder on each other. Here, however, we have a case of a romantic relationship where the two find a source of strength and comfort from each other. That makes them compelling, especially since the show celebrates the flaws of its characters.

NCIS: Los Angeles,” Sam and Callen (5) – Clearly, this is a very different sort of relationship, since it is primarily a work partnership that has turned into some sort of familial experience over time. These two guys do care about each and make one another better; there is no better example of that than what we saw during the end of this past season. Given all all of the turnover that has taken place over at the flagship show this year, we don’t really think it is much of a stretch to say that this is one of the strongest partnerships in the “NCIS” franchise. The only real rival is probably Deeks and Kensi, who are also key components of this show.
