‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6 spoilers: Be prepare to explore Charming’s past

If you were hoping for “Once Upon a Time” season 6 to be an exploration of some sorts into the past of one Prince Charming, we come bearing news: That is precisely what you will be getting at one point. There is still a lot to learn about this character seemingly, whether it be his family history or even some of his aspirations that came from his humble farm days. Sure, he ended up becoming a hero and a Prince, but there are still questions and thoughts that remain.

In setting up what could be a rather-fantastic story for Josh Dallas to play on this coming season, executive producer Adam Horowitz passed along the following message to Entertainment Weekly:

“Charming has always had questions about his family and his father that he thought were answered … Charming’s past becomes something very important to his future. We’re going to see him and Snow embarking on some adventure related to that past, and what that’s going to create for them moving forward, which is some unexpected obstacles to that happy ending they’re all trying to live.”

We’re fine with more challenges on the Charming end, and we say that mostly because so much of the present-day action has been dictated more on matters pertaining to Snow. For one, her relationship with Regina is the focal point for their past conflict, and that bleeds over into the relationship between Emma and Regina. While Charming is involved in all of this, he has remained a little bit more of an outside player. There are some fun things that could come in shaking that up a little bit.
