Netflix releases ‘Luke Cage’ sneak peek starring Mike Colter — and it’s awesome (video)

With the premiere of “Luke Cage” coming to Netflix on September 30, the streaming service is starting to get progressively more generous over time. Today, that meant getting an opportunity to see a brand-new sneak peek, one featuring the title character (played by Mike Colter) being just about everything that you would want him to be: Awesome and almost entirely unstoppable.

There are two things that are especially clear after watching this preview:

1. Not everyone in Harlem has heard as of yet about Luke, his abilities, and what he’s capable of doing to anyone who stands in his way.

2. He is REALLY getting tired of having to buy new clothes. That’s clearly the line of the whole preview, and it’s gotta be true. At this point, he should really consider teaming up with some sort of hero whose superpower is stitching new outfits for other heroes.

The majority of the series is still being kept under wraps beyond these little glimpses of badassness, but it’s fairly easy to understand why when you think about what we’re coming up against here: The third in an ongoing series of Marvel shows for the streaming service, and one with enormous expectations after how great “Jessica Jones” was. While it may not be fair to call this a full-on sequel per se, the two worlds are so interlocked that this show probably feels a little more pressure than most to try to match things up.
