‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2: Could Mick Rory fall in love?
There are a few things that we’ve come to learn about Mick Rory over the years thanks to “Legends of Tomorrow,” whether it be that he could become more than Heat Wave (i.e. Chronos) or that he could eventually develop some hero-like tendencies.
So what could be next for the character? Well, it could be so simple as him actually starting to develop some feelings for another human being, which could be incredibly entertaining depending on how it pans out. Speaking to Collider, executive producer Marc Guggenheim made it clear that giving the character something new on a romantic angle could be incredibly fun to explore:
“This year, we want him to fall in love with someone and be like, ‘What are feelings?!’ He’s so much fun. He’s fun to write, and Dominic [Purcell] is obviously really enjoying playing him. I think Rory ends up stealing a lot of the scenes that he’s in.”
One other interesting thing that Guggenheim says about the season is that this time around, there is a lot less of a hurry when it comes to revealing the villains and the primary story there. We are getting something structurally that is more similar to “Arrow” or “The Flash,” where the Big Bads surface over time rather than being there at the beginning. That could serve the show well, but more than anything what we need is some evidence that everything that we’re seeing really matters. During the first season, so many of the episodes in retrospect feel like filler where very little was accomplished.
