‘Homeland’ season 6, ‘Billions’ season 2 premiere dates confirmed by Showtime
For one reason or another, Showtime has no problem at all letting you know when their series are going to return, even if it is not even within the next three or four months.
Earlier this week, the network started to spill the news on their premiere slate in the new year, and the first bit of news we have is that “Homeland” season 5 is going to be here on Sunday, January 15 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. This is the first time that the series has aired outside of the fall, and one of the biggest perceived reason for that right now is simply because they just are starting production around now. This season is set in New York City, and should focus more on the city and how it is still working to rebuild a decade and a half following September 11. Protecting the country stateside still is a top priority.
Meanwhile, it was also confirmed that come Sunday, February 19, “Billions” will also arrive for its second season. What’s rather interesting is that over the course of these two hours, we’re going to have a chance to see some very different sides of the same city. This is a show more about criminality within the world of finance, and people trying to get a leg-up on other traders and investors. It’s much more about internal threats as opposed to external ones.
In the end, both of these shows are tremendous, and this gives us further evidence that Showtime is plotting some great things for the new year.
