‘Outcast’ season 2: Premiere date speculation for Cinemax series

Tonight on Cinemax, the first season of “Outcast” is going to begin its walk into the sunset, and we imagine that it will be doing so with a story that is a culmination of everything creepy and fantastic that has been put on the small screen to date. We expect a showdown involving Sidney, Anderson, and Kyle in some form, and hopefully a small tease in the process of what season 2 will look like.

If you’re a comic-book fan, then obvious congratulations to you for having a slight leg up on everyone else. Given that we haven’t checked out the source material, we are firmly in the dark.

So when could season 2 premiere? Next summer is clearly a safe bet, given the fact that the series is already filming, and easily should have all of the various episodes ready ahead of time. It is a little atypical to start filming the next season at around the same time that the current one is on, but there may be a wide array of reasons to do filming now. Also, it’s not like “Outcast” is the only show to make this move, given that we’ve seen “Orange is the New Black” and many others take it on.

Hopefully, Cinemax will come through during the remainder of the filming process and give us some further updates. We may even get a sense of a little of them in the days coming up following tonight’s episode. Check back later tonight for some further coverage…
