‘Bachelor in Paradise 3’ episode 3 review: Evan Bass interrupts Josh Murray, Amanda Stanton
We gotta be honest — “Bachelor in Paradise” really surprised us tonight in one way, and it wasn’t any arrival or the lengthy Josh Murray – Amanda Stanton makeout session. Instead, we’re looking squarely at Evan Bass, who did something we had assumed that Nick Viall did going into the episode: Creating a fake date card to “follow his heart” and interrupt the date.
In some ways, we presume that Amanda has to be flattered, right? There are clearly a lot of people interested in her, and on some level, we figure that this has to feel good.
However, the way in which this happened was so uncomfortable, and this has been a full season of discomfort for a guy who already got some honest trust about his date with Carly Waddell not going as expected. Maybe it was funny on some level, but the guy just seems lost at sea at the moment and unsure of what the future holds.
Next week, we’ll at least get a better chance of seeing the aftermath of all of this. This show continues to be a mess, but at least we’ve got Chad out of the equation. It is funny, though, that we are replacing him with Brandon, quite possibly one of the biggest non-entities in franchise history. The only thing he really did that entertain us is get a little confused over the twins.
We will say that we do for the most part prefer the one-hour edition of the show to the longer version, mostly because that show is stuffed beyond belief. Either way, though, this is pure summer fluff, and the reality TV version of speed-dating even more so than the other editions of the franchise. Grade: C+.
