‘Ray Donovan’ season 4, episode 8 preview: First news on ‘The Texan’

The fourth season of “Ray Donovan” is getting near the two-thirds mark, and with that of course we are starting to think that we’re getting close to the point where stuff is really about to hit the fan. This brings us to next week’s new episode entitled “The Texan,” which could have a very simple premise that unfolds from there in super-complicated fashion.

What do we know at the moment about the story? Not too much, mostly because Showtime has not exactly released a boatload of details beyond the following: Ray is trying to do what he can to make the rematch happen with Whittaker, but he may need a little bit of assistance. This is why he could be looking for a little bit of help from Lena and Daryll.

Based on the preview that aired following tonight’s episode, we know things are going to get a little bit violent and crazy. Ray is going to work hard in some of his recruiting efforts, while at the same time, he also may have to prepare for some pain as he is taking some threats to some unlikely targets and he may have to use a little bit of the social capital he’s constructed over time.

Sure, at the moment Ray may be alive and out of prison, but by the end of this season, who knows what sort of trouble he’ll find himself in? We’ll have some more on that over time.
