‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ preview: Siggy Flicker tries to be disciplinarian

The past few weeks of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” as a series have taken on many different challenges, and somewhere near the top of the list has been trying to introduce new cast members while also dealing with important emotional threads involving some longtime ones. When you have a storyline like Teresa Giudice returning to society following a prison sentence, it is easy to argue that very little is compelling in comparison.

At this point in the season, though, we are luckily starting to get to know some of the new ladies fairly well, at least in terms of their point of view and where they are coming from. The newest sneak peek below from the August 14 episode features Siggy Flicker with her daughter, where she is doing what she can in order to teach her proper discipline.

Unfortunately, for her this is no easy task, as she claims that she has not followed through with many of her punishments to date. Therefore, she’s hoping it sticks when she takes her daughter’s phone away this time. (Hearing the daughter ask for Dunkin’ Donuts right in the middle of this may be our favorite part of the entire preview.)

In the end, we consider this to still be one of the lighter moments of the episode, mostly because we’re well aware of much of the conflict that is going to be swirling all around it. We definitely expect at some point that there will be more arguments between Siggy and Teresa in particular, as that foundation has already been laid.
