‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’: John Oliver responds to Lorelai shout-out
Yesterday, Netflix did a great thing for “Gilmore Girls” fans everywhere and released the first teaser for their upcoming four-part series subtitled “A Year in the Life,” though the funny thing we’re hearing about it today is that it has been revealed that the conversation between Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Biedel) is not actually in the series itself; it was specifically created just for the purposes of the teaser to give fans something to talk about.
We already talked about Amy Schumer’s response to the teaser, which featured Lorelai and Rory having a candid conversation about her; now, we’ve also got a response courtesy of John Oliver, who Lorelai questioned as to whether or not he’d find her attractive. Based on the interview below with Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show” (in which he has made several appearances over the past year), Oliver is definitely a fan.
Also in this interview Oliver and Colbert discuss at length the Democratic National Convention, and Oliver’s belief that Vice-Presidential nominee Tim Kaine is well on his way towards becoming America’s favorite step-dad. It’s a fun interview, and you can tell during this that Colbert and Oliver have a very good friendship that stems from their days on Comedy Central.
The “Gilmore Girls” revival will be premiering on Netflix in the months ahead, so we presume we’ll have some further news about it before it launches. We imagine that if Lorelai continues to shout-out popular people, this will be a series that has no problem at all generating more attention for itself.
