‘The Bachelorette’: Aaron Rodgers wishes brother Jordan well, hasn’t watched the show

For the first time since the beginning of this season of “The Bachelorette,” Aaron Rodgers has finally commented on his relationship with his brother Jordan — but doesn’t exactly offer up a whole lot when it comes to new information on the subject, either.

Speaking to a local station in Wisconsin after Green Bay Packers training camp (otherwise known as one of the few places he cannot avoid the questions), the former Super Bowl champion made it clear that he had not watched the show, but also didn’t feel like it was right to air dirty laundry out in the open:

“As far as those kinds of things go, I’ve always found that it’s a little inappropriate to talk publicly about some family matters, so I’m just — I’m not going to speak on those things, but I wish him well in the competition.”

The reality here ultimately is that if Aaron wished to talk about his brother, then he’d talk about his brother. It’s a pretty big indictment that he’s stayed silent. There’s just no motivation for him to talk about this stuff, given that he has other priorities. Also, the general idea here is that if you don’t discuss it, eventually everyone will stop asking you about it. We never really got the sense that people on the show really wanted to discuss it all that much, either, given how Jordan and Aaron’s older brother Luke reacted to it being broached while on the hometown date. The difference is that Aaron is not on a reality TV show looking to make a big part of the storyline his personal history with his brother.
