‘The Last Ship’ season 3, episode 8 preview: Assessing the aftermath in ‘Sea Change’

Last Ship -

The unfortunate thing for many characters within the world of “The Last Ship” is rather simple: People die, and a heck of a lot more often than they do in the real world. We’ve seen it time and time again, and the virus at times is not even directly involved in what happens.

Unfortunately, Sunday night’s new episode on TNT is one that brought some shattering consequences in America, and for next week’s episode entitled “Sea Change,” you are going to see the aftereffects of that. How the country moves forward will be imperative in figuring the course of the remainder to the season. President Michener is gone. Therefore, who is going to lead the country? How could this leadership impact what happens next with Chandler and the Nathan James?

As for the other main plotline in the hour, the one thing that we can tell you at present is that Chandler is going to do his part to figure out if there are possible virus mutations out there. This has been key to the story in China in one way or another since the beginning of the season, and was a chief motivating factor in some of the actions of Takehaya. Ultimately, what the death of Michener does is that it forces the crew of the James to think more about home, and in turn, it could leave them vulnerable to external factors. The pressure on them was already heating up, and all of a sudden it is now at more of a boil.
