‘Teen Wolf’ season 6 will be MTV show’s last (Comic-Con 2016)
San Diego Comic-Con is still in its first 24 hours, and yet we already have a moment that has drawn a very sad reaction from the crowd. (Typically, that’s not what you want from a convention.)
During the “Teen Wolf” season 6 panel, it was announced that the upcoming batch of episodes will be the show’s last, and the fans in attendance seemed to be rather distressed to hear it. This is a show that fans have already been waiting to see for quite some time, largely because for so long there have been many mysteries regarding its future, whether it be the status of Dylan O’Brien (who was hurt filming the latest installment of the “Maze Runner” franchise) or some specific story details.
Ultimately, though, we’re not altogether surprised to hear this news. The ratings are not entirely what they once were, and to go along with that, there are only so many seasons that you can have Scott McCall as a teenager. Otherwise, the show turns into “young adult wolf” and it is suddenly very different. Also, the cast probably is eager to try some new things, given that this is such a physically demanding show and one the requires long hours.
Let’s just hope that with this announcement in mind, MTV finds a way to really deliver and turn season 6 into one of the best things that they have put on the air to date. We’re pulling for a lot of drama, some surprising characters, and also an ending that really feels worthy of the journey we have been on for so long.
