‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 4, episode 7 review: The plan within a plan

There are certainly parts of “Beauty and the Beast” right now that feel like a Jason Bourne movie, and that includes the crafty government agency, the man desperate to escape them, and also someone desperate to try and bring him in … or at least on the surface.

What was interesting about Thursday’s thrill-ride episode entitled “Point of No Return” is that the big twist was one that threw us for a loop multiple times. At first, we thought that Cat was ready to turn over her husband to the DHS, thinking that this was the only way to ensure that he would be able to keep himself alive. She even showed up to a meetup spot to convince him to turn himself in, and Vincent certainly seemed angry as a result.

However, what we saw in the end was yet another act. He was able to see in her actions and hear in her voice that she was trying to hand out a rather-crafty warning more so than anything else. She gave him enough of a signal to get away, but at the same time, the two have to now realize that they are in a precarious situation. She had to keep up appearances at work, and this was the only way to do so in publicly pick a side.

Kudos to the writers for coming up with an idea to move the show forward and into some sort of realm of realism. In order to allow Catherine to keep her job, she had to get distance from Vincent. The same goes for Tess getting distant from all of them. JT is going to have to realize that he is putting himself in harm’s way by helping him, and as for Heather … she’s just gotta be careful about that new beau. There’s always a reason to fear in this world. Episode Grade: B+.
