‘Teen Wolf’ debate: Should season 6 be the last — or close to it?
As of right now, “Teen Wolf” season 6 is in a little bit of a holding pattern? MTV has been fairly mum on releasing details, other than what we saw at the end of season 5. The Nazi werewolf is coming! In between that and the departure of Kira (Arden Cho), those are some of the biggest teasers that are out there.
For the sake of the rest of this article, let’s think a little more long-term in trying to answer one key question: How much longer can this show really last?
Consider the title – This is “Teen Wolf.” It’s not “Young Adult Wolf.” Yes, that joke has probably been done a few times, but you don’t want the show going for so long that it loses believability.
Creating stakes – Also, you want the drama to feel as dramatic as possible. There are some obvious concerns that come with having a show run for so long that we become number to some of the danger and the drama that the characters find themselves in. It’s a real, understandable fear at this point that this show will start to become a shell.
Yet, there are reasons for it to stay a while – The characters are still great, and while there have been notable exits, you still have Tyler Posey as an anchor. Also, how many other series are there in this vein? “The Vampire Diaries” has some similarities, but we know that it is ending. With it gone and with “The Originals” in a little bit of ratings trouble going into season 4, “Teen Wolf” may occupy a rather unique space as we look forward to the future.
Ultimately, we want to hear from you: Should season 6 be the last season? How long should it stay on the air? Vote in the attached poll.

I hope Teen Wolf introduces at least one or two freshmen and continues for a seventh season where we see Liam graduating, probably alongside Hayden, Mason and Corey. There has never been dominance for the show to be centered only around Scott McCall. We are ready to let go of Scott and Stiles this season, but not of the show and the amazing characters that still must continue in town. Loosing Derek was a “lost”, which has been healed with short tempered werewolf Liam Dunbar. I hope Lydia or Malia remain as anchors for a season seven, alongside characters like Jordan Parrish, Brett Talbott, Braeden, Valerie Clarke, Lori Talbott, Sheriff Stilinski and Melissa McCall. I just wish to see many new werewolves ahead. Whether it is in a full season in arcs with 20-24 episodes or at least a 12 episodes season to give a taste of the new. Teen Wolf still remains as the best series in MTV and the only supernatural related worth watching. Penny Dreadful is gone, Supernatural is unbearable, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals are on a bad place right now, Sleepy Hollow is already incoherent, Shadowhunters is not worthy of comparing and Wynonna Earp could go either way whenever it premieres a second season. I hope season six causes controversy and cleans the way for a seventh.
