‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Are Alex Woytkiw, JoJo Fletcher getting closer?

Is Alex Woytkiw an afterthought on “The Bachelorette” this season, or a contender? We don’t mean that to be a slam against Alex (who seems like a super-nice guy), but it is a question we’ve still wondered. He hasn’t had much one-on-one time, and he’s definitely felt like an underdog.

Yet, in watching the sneak peek below, you get a sense that the guy is super-confident in things with JoJo Fletcher. We don’t think he’s being delusional; she’s making him feel that way by reassuring him and telling him that he opened up during the date. This makes him feel better, and he even admits there were times this season he felt lost.

Unfortunately, you could also see this as the edit setting him up to get the rug pulled out from under him. It’s clear to us that Jordan Rodgers, Luke Pell, and Robby Hayes are probably getting hometown dates. That only leaves one spot. We’d be shocked if it goes to James Taylor based on his recent edit, so it just comes down to Alex versus Chase McNary. Both guys have one thing in common in that they have both gone through two-on-one dates with JoJo already.

We wish there was a flash-forward button in some ways through parts of Monday’s episode. Entertainment-wise, this is one of the weakest over the course of the season typically. Hometown dates are typically more interesting, since you are introducing more people and giving us more drama that we don’t have a tendency to see as often. We’ll see what this season holds there.
