‘Empire’ season 3 spoilers: About French Montana’s role…

If French Montana’s role on “Empire” season 3 was meant to be a secret, it’s now blown out of the water.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the rapper is set to appear as Vaughn, a described “music mogul” who holds a key spot in Lucious Lyon’s inner circle. Apparently, there are still some valuable players in there who are not on the show yet! It should make for an interesting, magnetic role for him, especially since Lucious typically surrounds himself with big personalities.

As it turns out, there are some other familiar faces stopping by. Joining French Montana in the early going this season is Birdman, who will fittingly play himself. Sure, “Empire” probably went a little bit overboard in season 2 with the guest stars, and the impression so far makes us believe they’re moving in a new direction. Maybe it’s more of a slow-crawl than a quick leap. They are still casting some notable names clearly, but they have a role in the story rather than just “hey, you’re a big star, so be sure to appear soon.” We don’t need to be familiar with every person in your guest cast!

The big cliffhanger

Who died at the end of season? Unfortunately, this casting news offers no clue. We just wanted to throw in a little reminder in here that both Rhonda and Anika’s lives hang in the balance still. Heck, one of them could be literally hanging in the air based on what we saw at the end of season 3.
