‘The Last Ship’ season 3 spoilers: Could Chandler find love again? Eric Dane chimes in

The first thing that we should go ahead and note when it comes to “The Last Ship” season 3 is clearly this: It’s not a show about romance. It’s a show about heroism and survival, but if some romance happens to come around in the midst of everything, are we really going to see some of these characters say “no” to it? We have a hard time believing so, provided that it is the right person and it is the right timing.

For Chandler, maybe the timing is finally right following the death of his wife for him to at least consider it again. Specifically, there is a possible love interest out there for him in Sasha, and speaking on the subject of if the character could have a romantic future to TVLine, star Eric Dane passed along the following:

“I think that’s the plan. I’ve always sorta seen Chandler by himself in a cabin in the woods with his kids, chopping wood. But I think it’s time. The passing of his wife Darien has run its course. I don’t think [romance is] the first thing on his mind, but if it presents itself, I think he would entertain it.”

We do certainly think that there could be some great storytelling to come out of Chandler in love, since it would create a whole new level of stakes and challenges for the character that we have not seen him experience before. Also, it could provide a little bit of lightness in a story that often is filled with danger and at times even dread.
