‘America’s Got Talent’ video: Christopher dances with Village People puppets
If you cannot convince anyone to be in a music group with you, clearly the next best thing is to make your own!
In the video below (first posted by Entertainment Weekly) from Tuesday night’s “America’s Got Talent,” you can see a guy named Christopher, who is clearly some sort of performer from Las Vegas, show up with a Village People tribute act that is basically him playing the part of every member using puppets.
We feel like we can already ready some of the tea leaves on this act, mostly in that we feel like there are going to be a good many people out there who will easily loathe it and understandably so. It’s corny; even for us, as someone who appreciates originality, it probably starts to get old after thirty seconds. Also, if you have some frustrations with the Village People themselves, you’re going to have those same ones here on an equal or greater level.
Yet, we have a feeling that this is probably going to be put through to the next round, mostly on the basis of it being different than anything else that is out there. If he does something else innovative with puppets, it could be worth it. We just hope that we’re not going to get the Village People again since there is really only so much that you can do with that.
This act is one of many that NBC is hyping up for what is supposedly one of their most “unique” nights of the season. Specifically, we know that Nick Cannon has a golden buzzer this year, and this could be the night he decides to use it. It has to be soon, since clearly there are not too many episodes left before the Judge Cuts.
