‘Supergirl’ season 2 casts former ‘Wonder Woman’ Lynda Carter as President of the United States
The casting for “Supergirl” season 2 just got a little bit more wonderful.
While we heard some time ago that the show was hoping to get Lynda Carter, a.k.a. the famed Wonder Woman of decades past, on the show for a guest stint, we now are getting to officially see it happen! Sources confirm that Carter will recur on the upcoming second season of the show in a role that is pretty darn important: The President of the United States. We have no real idea how she will frequently interact with characters like Kara Danvers or Cat Grant, given that they are in National City, but we are excited to find out since this is the first show in the entire CW – DC Universe that has really looked at things on a Presidential level.
We will likely get to see Carter early in the season, and this is hopefully just the beginning of some of the other castings that we are going to get over the course of the next few weeks. We already know that “Teen Wolf” alum Tyler Hoechlin is going to be playing Superman on the series for a couple of episodes, and the show is still in the process of casting Lex Luthor’s sister, who will be arriving to National City to escape his shadow.
“Supergirl” executive producer Greg Berlanti does clearly have a thing for casting people once famous for playing superheroes before. After all, Dean Cain has already recurred on “Supergirl,” and former Flash John Wesley Shipp plays a very important part over on that show.
The new season of “Supergirl” will premiere on The CW this fall. If you are interested in getting some other scoop on the show, you don’t have to look any further than the link here!
