‘Outcast’ video: Prepare for episode 3 by looking back

There is going to be a new episode of “Outcast” airing on Cinemax tonight, but before we get around to that, why not take a moment or two and digest further precisely where we’ve come from?

In this particular instance, it makes a great deal of sense to do so given that we are coming out of a daring, haunting, and above all incredibly impressive hour of television where we’ve seen the writers really decide to do something risky: Giving you a huge chunk of Kyle backstory in the early going, rather than just furthering things along completely with other possessions. It’s something that they could have waited for many weeks to dive into, but we are very much happy that they didn’t.

The video below features executive producer Chris Black talking about the decisions made to get us to that point, while star Patrick Fugit also does a great job of detailing more of specifically what drives his character, and how much his past with his mother has caused his entire life to in many ways caved in. He’s had an almost impossible life, and the fact that he is still standing (albeit barely) is testament to something.

On Friday night’s new episode, we’re going to see one of the most unusual possessions that we’ve had a chance to see so far over the course of the series’ run, so if we have one bit of advice for you, it’s rather simply: Stay tuned! It’s going to be a rather crazy story coming up.
