‘Prison Break’ revival: Dominic Purcell shares more about upcoming story
At this point, many diehard fans of “Prison Break” are probably aware of the fact that Dominic Purcell was badly injured while filming the new revival for the series in Morocco; he’s going to be okay, but this was a pretty devastating process for him to go through still that requires a good period of recovery.
The actor, also known for “Legends of Tomorrow” these days, spoke to Deadline about how he is feeling; not only that, but he was also kind enough to give the following tease regarding some of what lies ahead:
“It’s tying into what’s going on in the world today with terrorism. The show is taking place in Yemen; we’re dealing with ISIS and ISA, and obviously we left off with Michael presumably dead. He wasn’t, he ended up working for this organization. It got to the point where he couldn’t do it anymore, and they threw him in a jail in Yemen to change his mind. He didn’t change his mind, they set him up…Paul Scheuring has written all of the nine episodes. Honestly, the fans are going to be blown away by this. It’s really a riveting, high-tension thriller. It’s an extraordinary, extraordinary show. I’ve seen the dailies of it, and it looks like a cross between Bourne Identity and American Sniper. It’s crazy. It’s really, really cool.”
Ultimately, there’s a lot of interesting, exciting material coming up for the entire cast, but the downside here still remains that you’re going to be waiting a good while in order to see it. There are no plans for the show to come back until the spring; it was initially scheduled earlier, but it was pushed back after baseball drama “Pitch” was shoved forward all the way to the fall.
