‘Penny Dreadful’ season 3 video: Reeve Carney on Dorian ‘owning his darkness’

The third season of “Penny Dreadful” is continuing tonight on Showtime with another new episode, but before we get around to it, why not get a few more comments from someone who has seen much of the action firsthand in Reeve Carney?

In the video, you can see the actor speak out about some of the changes for this character over time, and how in season 3 in particular, we are seeing a side of him that is “owning his darkness” perhaps even more so than he ever has before. He also talks a little bit about why he enjoys playing this character so much, largely because it is a chance to do something so different and completely outside the sort of stuff that he gets to tackle on a regular basis. There is a certain element of adventure that likely comes with this role, and we imagine that this has to be exciting.

When it comes to Carney’s specific arc on the show itself, do we think that the best for Dorian still could be to come? It’s definitely understandable that we ask that question right now based on where we are in the story, and also that it feels like we’re building towards something over the final episodes this season. Then again, maybe we’re getting set up for something even further down the road; we realize that the show has not been renewed yet for another season, but we’re certainly hoping it will and feel pretty confident that the fans would like to see it happen.
