The CW Midseason Schedule: ‘The Originals’ season 4, ‘iZombie’ season 3, more held back
Today, The CW made a big announcement in the form of its fall schedule, but it’s clear that there were a couple of wrenches thrown in that many out there did not exactly expect.
Specifically, we’re talking about some of the midseason decisions. On the new show side, it was somewhat of a surprise to find out that “Riverdale,” the much-discussed adaptation of the popular Archie comics, will not be coming on until presumably 2017. Meanwhile, the same goes for the fourth season of “The Originals” and also the third season of “iZombie.” Seeing “The 100” season 4 be held until the new year is less of a surprise, given that this is what we saw this year, and this show works better with a shorter order and a precise narrative.
So why “The Originals”? Network head Mark Pedowitz confirmed that he still firmly believes in the show, and is for the most part holding it back in order to further boost midseason efforts. We imagine that the same here could be said for “iZombie,” even though its performance without “The Flash” as a lead-in is still somewhat of a mystery. That is something that could be uncovered a little bit more as we get closer and closer to the end of the season.
Once we do have some other news when it comes to these shows, or anything else from the CW schedule for that matter, we’ll have it for you here. Stay tuned!
