‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4 wishlist: New villains, crossovers, and more Bobbi
The third season of “Agents of SHIELD” may now be over, but as many viewers know, there’s still so much story still to tell. The show has a fourth season coming up in the fall, and with its new timeslot Tuesday nights at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, there is potential for the writers to tell, provided that they really want to, some “edgier” stories that will better serve that new spot on the schedule.
What do we want to see specifically from the show moving forward? In this new edition of our wishlist series, we are pleased to point some of that out.
1. A rested team – Sure, we did have that little teaser at the end of the finale suggested that there is some action to come, but at the same time we do want to see what the team looks like as a whole when they’ve let their guard down a little bit. Fitz and Simmons have earned that vacation more than anyone!
2. A new villain – We love Grant Ward more than anyone, but given where we are at this point in the story, the timing seems right for the show to move into a different direction now with someone who can enter this world from elsewhere. Maybe they’re a totally new villain for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or maybe the show picks them up from elsewhere.
3. Bring back Bobbi and Hunter – Since “Marvel’s Most Wanted” did not go to series, we’d like to see Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood at least make some guest appearances moving forward; otherwise, how else are we going to figure out what happened to him? Of course, we’d love some Agent Carter flashbacks as well, but that seems like it’ll be a little more unlikely.
4. Spin-offs – We know that “Daredevil” has a tone that probably will not fit well into what “Agents of SHIELD” does, but why can’t you at least consider bringing a character from the Netflix world over here, even for just an episode? Or, how about a cameo from someone in the movies? Given the show’s recent low ratings, they could use some sort of quick boost in the numbers.
