CBS 2016 Fall Schedule: ‘Scorpion’ season 3, ‘NCIS: Los Angeles,’ ‘Madam Secretary’ move
CBS announced their official fall schedule on Wednesday morning, and there are a few surprises. “The Amazing Race” is shelved until midseason (more on that soon), the two-hour Monday comedy block is back, and “NCIS: Los Angeles” is moving yet again to a different night of the week. This time around, it feels like the goal here is to try and shore things up on Sunday night without “The Good Wife” present there.
Take a look at the full schedule below; we’ll have some more analysis at the bottom of this article.

8:00 – The Big Bang Theory
8:30 – Kevin Can Wait (new comedy)

10:00 – NCIS: New Orleans
Wednesdays

10:00 – Code Black
Thursdays (after “Thursday Night Football” ends)

9:30 – Life in Pieces
10:00 – Pure Genius (new drama)
Fridays
8:00 – MacGyver (“new” drama)

The most obvious change in the schedule this time around is CBS prioritizing comedy more than they have in the past, giving at most four hours of it a week. This is a big change we’re noticing this year, with ABC also giving up a whopping five hours to the genre. It may be because time is at a premium for many viewers now, and watching thirty minutes of something, commercials included, feels like less of a commitment.
