‘Empire’ season 2 finale: Be prepared for a wedding!

“Empire” is the sort of show that loves to go big, so you really should not be shocked that there will be something of this particular variety at the end of season 2.

So what will it be on this particular occasion? Think along the lines of a wedding! According to Entertainment Weekly, two characters will be tying the knot at the end of the season, but there is no word as of yet regarding just who these characters are going to be. Sure, Hakeem may be engaged, but who knows if that is going to last? Also, you have to remember that there are many reasons in this world for other characters to come close, and even marry, in a short period of time.

One other thing that you should expect in the finale is a really deep dive into the relationship between Lucious and Cookie. Here’s what showrunner Ilene Chaiken had to say on this particular subject to the aforementioned website:

“Lucious’ crimes — and even some of Cookie’s — are coming home to roost … “It’s a payoff that’s also the beginning of a real deep dive into Lucious and Cookie’s past and the ghosts that never stop haunting them.”

There is something really wonderful in seeing Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson’s characters getting close together, but in a sadistic sort of way there’s also this clear realization that it is probably not going to last. After all, does it ever really with this show? We’ve grown really accustomed to watching these two celebrate a victory, only to suffer the agony of defeat minutes later.
