‘Ink Master’ season 7, episode 10 preview: The final six face off
Tonight, “Ink Master” gave us arguably the strongest episode of the entire season so far, and maybe one of the strongest episodes of the entire series. Sausage and Matti Hixson faced off one more time, and it led this time to the former being eliminated. We also lost Jime Litwalk in a duel against Cleen Rock One, which was high-profile in its own way but overshadowed in part just because of the stakes on the other side.
Moving forward, we now have a rather-interesting field of six with such an interesting roster left. We know that both Jesse and James are strong, but at the same exact time, it’s hard for us to root for anyone to win who has barely even been around. Meanwhile, you’ve got people like Christian and Anthony who have been here from the very beginning, and have been consistently strong almost the entire time.
Who do we think is the favorite to win? We do think that there was a telling editing moment tonight when we realized how much the veterans are overlooking the newbies; among the returnees, we’re also putting the most stock in Matti since he seems to be playing the most strategic game. While “Ink Master” may not be all that strategy-focused, it does play a part in how some of the artists work and how they choose to compete.
We’ll see what happens next week, but it only seems like the challenges are going to get even more intense.
