‘Dancing with the Stars 22’ results: Was Doug Flutie, Kim Fields, or Jodie Sweetin eliminated?

Flutie -

Dancing with the Stars,” after a lengthy two-week voting period, finally got back to business tonight doing something that we know many people weren’t quite looking forward to seeing: Results.

As for who was in danger, it was clear when looking at the scores that Doug Flutie was the most-likely to go. He’s been the obvious weak link for some time, and while we think he’s a fighter, there is only so long that you can last before some of the differences in scores become obvious. Meanwhile, we worried somewhat about Kim Fields’ fanbase size, and also whether or not Jodie Sweetin’s previous appearances “in jeopardy” actually meant that she was in danger of going home. That’s not something that is always clear.

Ultimately, Doug was the person sent home, and the show really didn’t even bother to disguise it by putting him in the bottom with people like Paige VanZant, who really had no business at all going home. We’re ultimately sad for him, but at the same time, we do appreciate that the voters are really thinking here first and foremost from the objective of making the competition as strong as possible.

With him gone, we’re left in an interesting place where we don’t quite think that there are any runaway favorites to go home next, and there could just be a few little percentage points in the voting / scores that determine it. We’ll back back with more analysis soon, after we go and find some Flutie Flakes in celebration of Doug (we really wish they were still a big thing).
