‘UnREAL’ season 2 spoilers: The more things change…
The second of “UnREAL” is going to be premiering on Lifetime June 6, and there are many things about the show that are going to be different. For example, we have a different male lead at the center of the show “Everlasting,” and with that of course are going to be a whole group of contenders who are going to be doing all sorts of crazy stuff in their effort to air time … or find love … or something like that. Who knows with this show?
So while much of that will give the show a different flavor, at its core you can still expect this series to be about the complicated relationship between Rachel and Quinn; while the former may have more responsibility this time around, Constance Zimmer promises to Entertainment Weekly that this is really not going to change too much at all when it comes to conflict:
“It’s very much a mother-daughter relationship where sometimes you love your mom and can’t imagine life without her, and sometimes you hate her and you just wish she’d go live in another country … That’s what it should always be. That’s what makes it interesting and challenging, is the love-hate relationship that we all have with people in our lives who are sometimes mentors and sometimes not.”
If the show strikes the balance of this relationship with the many other things that it almost always has going on, we feel pretty darn confident and then some that we’re going to love it. There’s no reason at all to think that the quality should go down, even if we probably are going to miss some of the original contestants.
