‘Empire’ season 2, episode 15 preview: Lucious’ new tactic in ‘More Than Kin’

The second season of “Empire” has been by and large about control one way or another, and through the second part of this season, it’s been more about what Lucious needs in order to get back control.

“More Than Kin” is the title of the next new episode, and as you can see in the attached synopsis, Terence Howard’s character is going to be looking more towards charity now as an effort to convince the board that he is the right CEO for the job. As for Hakeem? Well, he’ll probably just continue to shoot himself in the foot:

“With help from Andre, Lucious hosts a fundraiser, as part of his campaign to prove to the board that he should return as Empire’s CEO. Meanwhile, Hakeem must decide whether he wants to be a father to his and Anika’s child.”

The thing about Hakeem is that he is a really talented guy, and he’s incredibly smart with the way he often goes about his career. The issue for him here is mostly just that he’s not altogether equipped when it comes to how is the best way for him to lead. Being a CEO is something that cannot be taken lightly, and for the most part he’s just used it as a mouthpiece to proclaim to the world precisely how awesome he is. Sooner or later, that was going to bite him in the butt … and we’re now betting more on soon based on what we’re seeing from him. That’s what happens when you’re booted from your position.
