Finale Forecast: How can ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ have a legendary ending?
The first season of “Legends of Tomorrow” on The CW has certainly been fun, but at the same time, we’d also say that it has been more than a little uneven. There are episodes that are a thrill, and then ones we don’t remember since they made almost no difference on the endgame of this season. This has all been about finding a way to stop Vandal Savage, and we’re still waiting in many ways for that to happen.
So how can this show effectively tie up all of season 1, while setting the stage for the future? In this latest edition of our Finale Forecast series, we’re going to do our part to give some answers on that very subject.
What could happen – It’s certainly possible that we could have a finale that ends the Vandal story in an epic, time-altering fashion, and that’s what we would expect given the trajectory. Also, we imagine that in between Ray and Kendra, there will be some resolution to their romance. We should also learn what side of the alignment Snart and Rory want to stay on moving forward after struggling with that in many ways over the course of the season so far.
Also, we imagine that the mystery character played by Patrick J. Adams will help to set up the second season.
What should happen – We’d argue that since the Vandal storyline has been dragged-on already, we’d actually be fine with it ending before we get to the finale, and use this to introduce a new villain (maybe Adams?), and then also give us a clear trajectory on where season 2 would go. We also would be fine if a few “Legends” end up departing the team, that way some other people can enter the mix. We’d love Constantine and Vixen thrown in season 2, at least if Matt Ryan and Megalyn EK are available.
Also, as little romance as possible. We have enough of that on the other CW – DC shows.
