‘Britain’s Got Talent’ act 100 Voices of Gospel could carry hefty price tag
While 100 Voices of Gospel excelled during their “Britain’s Got Talent” audition that aired over the weekend, apparently it’s going to take more than a village to get them back onto the stage for the lives shows. Specifically, it’s going to take a rather hefty chunk of change from the producers.
According to a source from The Sun, it could cost as much as 130,000 British pounds to bring the entire group back in between travel and accommodations. This is a group that hails from many parts of the world, and that was a big part of their appeal. Here’s more from what that source had to say:
“Usually there’d be some deliberations before we’d go for a big act like that because of the costs and logistics. But as soon as Alesha [Dixon] pressed that [golden] buzzer it meant Simon Cowell and ITV picking up the bill.”
The show has already said that the group paid for their own expenses to get to the audition show, and a separate source tells Digital Spy that while it will cost the show and network ITV a pretty hefty chunk of change to get the group back for the live shows (they’re guaranteed that thanks to the buzzer), it will cost less than the number being reported. Either way, the fact remains the same: There’s a massive downside to saying “yes” to a group of that many people, especially when you are talking about people who are from outside Great Britain. With the Welsh choir last season, it may have been somewhat easier.
