Stephen Colbert shows Hillary Clinton how to eat cheesecake on ‘The Late Show’ (video)
In just one day, the New York primary is going to be held across the state, and of course it makes a little bit of sense that we would see the candidates hit the late-night circuit one last time before people start to hit the polls.
For Hillary Clinton, what this meant was an appearance on “The Late Show” Monday night, where (as you can see below) she gets a little bit of advice from Stephen Colbert as to how to properly eat a cheesecake. This was a fun little bit mocking some of Hillary’s actions on the campaign trail, but at the same time she seemed rather game to go along with it. Colbert has hosted just about every major candidate on his show at some point, and it was less than a few months ago Bernie Sanders made a major appearance for an interview.
The advantage for visiting one of these shows is easy to identify:You can reach the largest audience possible, and do so without having to travel far from a major hub. Also, they’re not out for the most part to trip you up on policy or anything else that could be deemed touchy. They’ll make you look silly, and that’s about it.
We’re not going to talk so much about the primary itself tomorrow, but given just how much comedy all of late-night TV has mined at this point out of the Presidential election, there is definitely a part of us right now that is curious as to how any of them are going to move forward and find other things to talk about. What else is there going to be to say?
