ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5, episode 17 video: Is Fitz about to be a father — again?

Just in case Fitz did not have enough things to worry about at the moment on “Scandal,” there is now this: The idea that he may have someone out there expecting a child with him.

As Abby informs him in the sneak peek below for Thursday night’s new episode, Lillian has been visiting a clinic as of late (she’s being spied on) that certainly suggests that she could be pregnant, and that’s something that the President obviously has to be aware of. Sure, in one way he is a lame-duck President, and with that he doesn’t have to worry so much about being reelected or having any other political problems because of this beyond just staying out his term. However, there is a reputation and a legacy that he has to think about here, and we’re sure that the last thing that he wants to do is have that completely overshadowed by some extracurricular things that he did in office.

With that being said, we’re not entirely sure that Fitz and his reputation can be necessarily fixed at the moment, if for no other reason than that he has shown himself already to be one of the biggest hot-mess Presidents in recent memory (even in the fictional sense) thanks to his divorce, affair stories, and everything else that has transpired with him. Sure, it’s been super-entertaining for us, but there’s a reason why this guy is perpetually in a state of stress.
