‘Sharknado 4’ has an amazing ‘Star Wars’-inspired title
We’re really hoping that this is not just some April Fools’ joke designed to mess with our head. Actually, we think this story can be categorized as so-silly-it’s-true, since we’re talking about the “Sharknado” franchise, the ruler of all things ridiculous / cheesy / awesome.
Today, Syfy confirmed that the title for the latest installment in the movie franchise is “Sharknado: The 4th Awakens,” which is about the best way possible to capitalize on the success of the recent “Star Wars” film. This is the sort of thing that someone probably parked as a name the moment that it came up in a pitch meeting or wherever else.
While there are not too many details regarding this new film, we do know for certain that it will resolve the whole Twitter cliffhanger regarding Tara Reid’s character of April. You’ll know if she lives or dies! Also, we know that Gary Busey is going to be appearing in the latest movie as April’s father; given that this franchise has already given us Ian Ziering and Vivica A. Fox, we secretly wonder if the goal here is to give us more or less every former “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant possible in scripted TV form. (We shall make it clear now that he have almost no problem at all with this.)
Just in case you’re wondering as to when the latest “Sharknado” is going to premiere, we’d caution you to mark your calendars right now for Sunday, July 31. Make sure you have literally nothing else going on in your life; you’re not going to want to miss this…
