‘The Blacklist’ season 3 spoilers: Edi Gathegi could star as Mr. Solomon in spin-off

The Blacklist logo any seasonIt’s amazing just how quickly some news has surfaced regarding the idea of a spin-off for “The Blacklist” coming to NBC. It was only one day ago as of this writing that we first heard the news that this show could be coming, and we’re now learning a thing or two about another familiar face who will be jumping aboard the potential series.

Sources confirm that Edi Gathegi, who plays the part of the notorious villain Mr. Solomon on the flagship show, could be a regular on the new series if it is ordered. This would mean that we’d have at least two confirmed main characters; Famke Janssen has already been cast as Susan “Scottie” Halsted, a woman who could end up being the show’s version of Reddington.

As for the status of Ryan Eggold’s Tom Keen? That for the moment remains the greatest mystery. Since it is described that she is in some ways to Tom what Red is to Liz Keen, it makes some sense that he would come over to this new show. The problem is that, for now, there’s not a whole lot that is clear there. Details in general are rather tight-lipped on the spin-off other than the fact that it will sort-of kick off in the 21st episode of the season, and then carry over to the 22nd, which will serve in some ways as the backdoor pilot.

We will offer up some further news on this spin-off the moment that we have them, so be on the lookout for them in the future!
